MP – NHS pay rise welcome news but not sustainable unless the health system is funded properly

Commenting on the news that some NHS nurses are set for their first pay rise in eight years, Tim, speaking in the House of Commons, said: "The minimum amount that nurses in South Cumbria would've lost since the pay freeze is £4,306. Given that the average house price in my constituency is 10 times the value of the average nurses' salary, you can see why that has a huge impact on retention and recruitment.
