Tim Farron is campaigning alongside local residents for Coniston to keep a GP surgery.

It comes as the village GPs have announced they will hand back their contract in July.

Keep a GP surgery in Coniston

We, the undersigned, give our heatfelt thanks to Dr Frey and Dr Abbas for their years of dedicated service, and note with sadness that they have given notice that they will hand back their contract in July. We call upon the ICB (Integrated Care Board) to act immediately to proactively seek a new GP provider in Coniston to serve the people of Coniston and its surrounding communities. We strongly oppose the idea that the patients of Coniston could be dispersed to surgeries in towns or villages which are too far away and are not easily accessible by public transport.
