South Lakes MP Tim Farron has blasted the Government's new long-term plan for farming in the UK, for failing to contain any serious mention of food - the industry's main product.

Commenting on the news that some NHS nurses are set for their first pay rise in eight years, Tim, speaking in the House of Commons, said: "The minimum amount that nurses in South Cumbria would've lost since the pay freeze is £4,306. Given that the average house price in my constituency is 10 times the value of the average nurses' salary, you can see why that has a huge impact on retention and recruitment.
