Farron welcomes funding for Lyth Valley pumps but vows to continue fight

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has welcomed the announcement this week that the government will continue to pay for the Lyth Valley pumps until 31st December 2020, an 18-month extension on their previous commitment. Tim has long campaigned for the government to fund these pumps, and has vowed to continue the fight to secure funding beyond that date.

Beds shortage shows need for Kendal Urgent Care Centre - Farron

The latest NHS data reveals that local hospitals have been operating at unsafe levels this winter, with more than 99% of all beds occupied at certain times. South Lakeland MP Tim Farron is calling for extra funding, as well as an Urgent Care Centre at Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal to help relieve the pressure elsewhere.
