Farron responds to Scottish referendum plans

13 Mar 2017

Commenting on Nicola Sturgeon's plans for a second independence referendum, South Cumbrian MP Tim Farron said:

"This is a time of great uncertainty - we don't need the added chaos of The Nationalists seeking to divide Britain. Scotland and Cumbria have deep cultural and economic ties, it would be a heart-breaking tragedy if Scotland and Cumbria were to be separated. We are better together and would both be weaker if we were apart."
