On the floor of the House of Commons yesterday, South Lakes MP Tim Farron urged ministers to ramp up testing of health and social care staff to help reopen local health services that have been forced to shut because of the pandemic.
South Lakes MP Tim Farron today directly challenged ministers to provide a long-term package of support to save Cumbria's hospitality and tourism sector.
Responding to the announcement from the Prime Minister about relaxing the lockdown, South Lakes MP Tim Farron said: "It's good that the Government have finally published the guidance to help our local hospitality and tourism businesses reopen in a way that is safe for both employees and customers.
On the floor of the House of Commons this afternoon, South Lakes MP Tim Farron urged ministers to go "further and faster" in bringing forward new radiotherapy treatment to help deal with the huge cancer waiting list caused by the pandemic.
Responding to last night's announcement from the Government that people who have been permanently self-isolating during this crisis will no longer need to shield from August, local MP Tim Farron said: "Many people who have been shielding in the South Lakes since March had told me that they feel like they had been completely forgotten about by the Government.
