Farron welcomes new car parking spaces at Oxenholme station

MP Tim Farron has today welcomed the new car parking spaces at Oxenholme train station. Network Rail has extended the car park at the station to 129 places after much pressure from local residents and from Mr Farron. It is hoped that this move will bring relief to residents of Oxenholme village who are badly affected by the excessive overspill parking on nearby streets.

Following the news that a delegation from the UK has failed to win concessions from the European Commission over plans to introduce compulsory EID Liberal Democrat Defra Spokesperson Tim Farron MP has urged Agricultural Minister Jane Kennedy to continue the campaign against compulsory sheep tagging.

Farron brings national dementia inquiry to South Lakeland

Tim Farron was one of the MPs leading a national inquiry into the lack of adequate training for care home staff working with people with dementia. The Alzheimer's Society, who supported the Inquiry, last week revealed that one in three care homes are not providing adequate training for staff to care for people with dementia.

MP calls for more support for community pubs

Villagers from Grizebeck met local MP Tim Farron as he poured their pints last Friday evening at the Greyhound Inn. Tim Farron had come along to support the efforts that are being put in by a team of local volunteers to keep their local pub open.
