"Ambulances are not a replacement for Coronary Care Unit" - Farron

Local MP Tim Farron has expressed his concern that although ambulance drivers and paramedics perform a magnificent service, they should not be considered as an alternative to the Coronary Care Unit at Westmorland General Hospital. Local MP Tim Farron's campaign to save the 42 local post offices threatened by Government closures continued this week as he secured a promise from Post Office Limited that they would read every one of the letters they receive during the consultation. He also secured information which shows that many of the decisions about closure will be made between mid February and mid March, and so Mr Farron is urging residents of South Lakeland to send him letters of support for their post office by 14 February. So far over a thousand letters of support have been sent from communities in Mr Farron's constituency alone, and as the impact of a loss of a branch on a community will be taken into account, it is especially important that people continue to show support.
