Local MP, Tim Farron has called for new Government plans to take £225million out of the cash reserves of up to 20,000 English schools to be scrapped. The plans could affect schools in Westmorland and Lonsdale with a cut in the budget of almost half a million pounds.
Local MP, Tim Farron has expressed his dismay today at the Chancellor lowering the rate of Capital Gains Tax from 40% to 18%, which could lead to yet more investment in property as second homes in the area.
