Tim takes local foster carers concerns to Westminster.

South Lakeland's MP, Tim Farron met with local Foster Carers in Kendal to discuss issues affecting them and how he can help to promote fostering.

Tim met Libby Maunder of South Lakes Foster Carers Association along with other members to discuss fostering in our area and to highlight the need for more foster carers locally.

Tim said: "Fostering a child is both challenging and rewarding and can make a critical difference to the lives of the young people involved. Cumbria County Council recently said that there was a shortfall of up to 2,000 foster carers across the county; and more than 8,000 in England."

"I wanted to hear from local foster carers about the challenges they faced and what I can do to help. I will take up their issues with the county council and the government and make sure we do everything we can to promote fostering."
