Tim Farron’s half marathon effort raises £1,000 for British Heart Foundation
Cumbrian MP Tim Farron and his cousin Richard have raised nearly £1,200 for the British Heart Foundation by taking on the infamous Langdale Half Marathon on Saturday.
Tim was running in memory of his cousin Andrew (Richard’s brother) who died aged 51 of a heart attack earlier this year.
Tim and Richard completed the half marathon in a time of two hours and 26 minutes.
Speaking after the race, Tim said: “I’m enormously grateful to everyone who sponsored us and donated to the British Heart Foundation who do phenomenal work to tackle heart disease.
“We were blessed by having glorious weather to help us enjoy the stunning views.
“It was made all the more enjoyable by completing the race with Richard. We were able to chat about Andrew and share our stories about how much he is sadly missed.”
