South Lakes MP Tim Farron has announced that between Tuesday 15th and Thursday 17th April he will be holding his annual youth surgeries on estates across South Lakes.

This year Tim will be holding his surgeries as follows;

Tuesday 15 April 2014 - Ambleside (Rothay Park) - 11:00am to 12:00noon

Wednesday 16 April 2014 - Kendal - Hallgarth MUGA - 11:00am to 12:00noon

Sandylands MUGA - 1:00pm to 2:00pm

Kirkbarrow MUGA - 3:00pm to 4:00pm

Thursday 17 April 2014- Sedbergh (Sedbergh People's Hall) - 11:00am to 12:00noon

Kirkby Lonsdale (Jubilee Field by Devil's Bridge) - 1:30pm to 2:30pm

Previous football surgeries have been a real success, with hundreds of young people joining Tim on Hallgarth, Kirkbarrow and Sandylands estates to play football and talk to Tim about the issues that matter to them. Tim will play five-a-side football on the multi use games areas with the local youngsters, before sitting down to discuss issues of concern.

Many of the youngsters are keen to see extra investment in the games areas, the size of the pitches increased and adding extra safety screening. However national issues of importance, such as crime, were raised as well.

Tim said: "I think it is very important to engage with the young people in our area and the Easter break gives me the perfect chance to discuss the issues affecting them. It's also great for me to get the occasional game of five-a-side in!

"Obviously the games areas are important to young people but I always enjoy hearing from them about their concerns on other issues such as crime and jobs. I always take their concerns on board and try to act on their comments, so that they can see that they can really make a difference to their local area."
