New website showcases best of Kendal

Local MP Tim Farron has welcomed the launch of a new website showcases the best of Kendal, saying it would provide a boost to tourism and to local businesses.

The website, which launched yesterday, provides a wide-ranging guide to Kendal, from advice about outdoor activities and cultural events through to tips on where to shop, eat and drink.

The majority of the funding for the new site came from Kendal Town Council, while Kendal BID and South Lakeland District Council also contributed funds. The site can be visited at www.visit-kendal.co.uk

Tim said: "Whether you're looking for tips on where to eat or where to visit, what to see or what to do, this new website is the place to go. It will provide a useful guide for visitors to our area and give a welcome boost to tourism in our area and to local businesses. My thanks go to the Lib Dem- run Kendal Town Council, as well as to Kendal BID and the District Council, for making this happen."
