New Immigration Bill aims to penalise refugees

The UK government is proposing a new Immigration Bill that will effectively end asylum in this country. The Bill even has an option to develop "offshore" asylum processing. Good job that Pritti Patel was not in charge when the Kindertransport [or even her own parents] arrived.
Penrith and Eden Refugee Network - PERN - are asking people to sign an open letter to Neil Hudson, our MP. The Immigration Bill is being debated in Parliament very soon and we want our MP to oppose the bill, just as he opposed the cut in international aid.
Some people say that it is not worth writing to Neil Hudson because he simply sends standard policy responses. This Open Letter, though, is different. PERN has regular meetings with Neil Hudson about refugees and he is listening. Knowing how many of his constituents are interested enough to sign a letter strengthens his voice.
On 26th July, PERN will give Neil Hudson the Open Letter, along with any group photos or other personal letters. The more signatures and letters/photos they have, the greater the impact.

We still have time, but do the asylum seekers?
