20 Jan 2016

South Lakeland MP Tim Farron has welcomed the news that a local GP practice has been rated 'outstanding'.

The Care Quality Commission has published its latest assessment of Nutwood Medical Practice in Grange-Over-Sands, giving it an overall rating of 'outstanding'.

The practice scored particularly highly for providing services that were 'effective' and 'caring', whilst "feedback from patients was continually positive about the way that staff treated people".

Sue McMillan, Deputy Chief Inspector of General Practice in the North, described the Practice as "a great example of what outstanding care looks like."

The surgery, operating at The Health Centre on Kents Bank Road in Grange-over-Sands, serves approximately 4,700 patients.

Tim said: "This is fantastic news for local people that use this GP Practice. The outstanding rating in the 'caring' category is particularly important, and it is testament to the commitment and attention shown by the doctors and nurses. My thanks go to all the staff who have helped to provide such an excellent standard of care for their patients."
