The Cumbria Rural CAB has stepped in after Citizens Advice South Lakeland shut its offices suddenly earlier this year. The SouthLakes service had financial problems due to government cuts.

Cumbria Rural CAB currently have around 10 staff providing management, training, quality oversight and support to the 40 or so volunteers that give their time freely as advisors, administrators, trustees or fundraisers.

Tim has called on the council to agree funding for the CAB throughout the district to give certainty to the service.

Tim said: "This is really welcome news. The Citizens Advice Bureau provide a vital service to local people and knowing that Cumbria Rural CAB is expanding is fantastic. I pledge to work with them and support them in any way I can, so that they can continue to help people in need throughout our area."
