Tim Farron MP this weekend visited a new cheesemaking business set up by local farmers.

Tom and Clare Noblet, who run Whin Yeats Dairy, recently decided to branch out from dairy farming and set up a cheesemaking business. Having converted one of their buildings for the purpose and been approved by Environmental Health, they are now producing their first batches of cheese.

On Saturday, the couple held a tasting afternoon, with a variety of their cheeses on offer. Visitors were also shown around the premises, and learnt how the cheesemaking process works, from the cows in the field through to the finished product.

Tim said: "Tom and Clare produce a variety of excellent cheeses, which I enjoyed tasting. It was fascinating to visit the dairy and see how the cheesemaking process works.

"Whin Yeats Dairy is yet another example of local people showing their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, and this looks set to be a success."
