Local MP Tim Farron will be visiting over 40 towns and villages from Grasmere to Burton and Dent to Torver over the next two weeks as part of his annual summer tour.

Mr Farron is well known for taking advantage of Parliament's summer recess to spend time getting out and about in the constituency talking to constituents and acting on local issues and concerns.

Speaking before his tour started, he said: "I believe parliament is too remote from many people's lives, and that is why I love getting to speak to people about the issues they care about and the issues that can make their lives better. That is why I got into politics and that is why I love doing the summer tour.

"I'd encourage anyone who has an issue large or small they'd like me to help with to come along and see me over the next couple of weeks."
