MP takes part in pom pom world record attempt

South Lakes MP Tim Farron is takin part in a pom pom world record attempt as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of a local hospice.

To celebrate their 25th anniversary, Eden Valley Hospice is attempting to break the world record for the number of woollen pom poms. The current world record of 7200 was set in 2014.

The hospice has been encouraging local residents to make a pom pom and send it to the hospice, and Tim took part in the challenge.

The world record attempt will take place on Wednesday 21st September.After the world record attempt, the hospice is planning on selling the pom poms to raise money for the hospice.

Tim said: "The Eden Valley Hospice provides a fantastic service to patients, and this is an innovative way of celebrating their 25th anniversary. I'd encourage local residents to send in a pom pom - they are easy to make and you could end up being part of a world record!"
