MP slams Government for inflicting more misery on South Lakes commuters

Commenting on the news that Cumbria's railways now won't see any upgrades until December 2019, local MP Tim Farron said: "Commuters in South Cumbria have become understandably exasperated by this Government's failure to provide adequate rail services.

"Regular cancellations, constant delays, broken promises of electrification - and now this.

"How much longer will hard-working rail users be forced to pay first class prices for third rate services?"
