South Lakes MP Tim Farron on Monday spent a morning with local business 'beelocal' meeting local producers and rolling up his sleeves and making deliveries in South Lakeland.

beelocal is a business set up last year in the teeth of the recession and offers people in South Lakeland the opportunity to buy local produce on line and have it delivered to their door - in the same way as many of the supermarkets. The difference is that everything that you buy via beelocal is from a local provider.

During Tim's morning with the beelocal he visited award winning Higginson's butchers in Grange-Over- Sands, Lakes Ice Cream, Savin Hall and many more local producers to collect produce for beelocal's online shoppers.

Tim said: "beelocal is a fantastic business and a local company that is taking on the supermarkets by offering people fantastic local produce with convenience at a decent price. I have worked with the company for the last six months and seen them go from strength to strength. It's a real privilege to be able to again roll my sleeves up and help the guys at beelocal."
