MP reveals Christmas card competition winner

23 Nov 2020

The winner of Tim Farron MP's annual Christmas card competition has been announced.

Josie Wilson, aged 6 and a pupil at Heron Hill Primary School in Kendal, has won this year's first prize.

Josie's winning design was one of almost 1,000 entries from schools across the South Lakes.

Over 40,000 cards with the design have been printed and are being delivered to every home in the constituency.

The year's runners up were Sean Hill from St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School in Windermere; Madison Partington from Sedbergh Primary School; Nieve Durnall from St Thomas's CE Primary School in Kendal; and Lottie Dale from Crosthwaite C.E. Primary School. A design by Poppy Drinkwater from Cartmel CE Primary School will feature on a second card.

Tim said: "I had a great fun picking the winner, especially as the standard this year is the highest it's ever been.

"In the end though, Josie's drawing of a festive penguin really stood out. She should be very proud of her design and I'm looking forward to sharing it with every house across Westmorland and Lonsdale.

"I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part, and wish all of them a very Merry Christmas!"
