Cumbrian MP Tim Farron, has been re-elected chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Hill Farming.

The MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale, in the Lake District, has regularly spoken out on behalf of farmers and has been described by the NFU as a 'true ally'.

Tim is seen a champion for rural communities and for Cumbria. NFU President Peter Kendall last year said of Tim: "Many of my members, especially in Tim's back yard in the North West, recognise him as a positive force for farming, keeping our issues high up the political agenda and never losing sight of the vital contribution food and farming make to our economy."

Tim said: "I have always worked hard to listen to our local farming community, which is an integral part of the tradition and beautiful environment of the Lake District. I will spend the next year fighting hard for our farming and rural communities and making sure they get the fair deal they deserve."
