2011 Christmas card winners

The long awaited results of Tim's annual Christmas card competition, which received entries from nearly 300 children from local primary schools, were announced today.

Tim presented the first prize to Anna Dempsey aged 8 and third prize to Harriet Hunter, both from Heron Hill Primary School. Second place went to Patrick Long, aged 6, from Goodly Dale Community Primary School.

The card, which will be sent to 40,000 households across the South Lakes, will have Anna's design on the front, with the second and third place designs on the back.

All participants will receive certificates, with the winners and runners up being awarded book tokens.

Speaking after the prize giving, Tim said: "I had great fun choosing our winners but it was not an easy decision!

"The presentation this morning was a really enjoyable way to start my week; Anna's design has made a fantastic Christmas card. I'd like to say a huge thank you to all the pupils who took part and wish all of them a very Merry Christmas!"
