MP praises 'World Class' Kendal Mountain Festival

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has heralded the news that Kendal Mountain Festival (KMF) has won the prestigious Visit England Tourist Event of the Year Gold Award.

KMF, along with four other Cumbrian businesses, were finalists in the Visit England Awards for Excellence 2014. The Awards celebrate tourism industry excellence and provide a platform to showcase the very best that England has to offer. At a glittering black tie event held at Cheltenham Racecourse two of KMF's Directors, Clive Allen and Steve Scott, were there to collect the award.

Tim said: "This is wonderful news and the recognition of many years hard work, especially from Clive and Steve and all the people who have helped make Kendal Mountain Festival a major date in the local and international calendar. This award could not have gone to a more worthy recipient."
