South Lakes MP Tim Farron has nominated Kendal Indian restaurant Eastern Balti as our areas entry in the 2011 Tilda Tiffin cup.

The Tiffin Cup is an annual event organised by a cross-party group of Members of Parliament known as the Tiffin Club. Each MP can nominate one restaurant from their constituency to go through to a regional final. The winners then attend a Grand Final cook-in at Bellamy's Restaurant in the Houses of Parliament which is presided over by TV Chef Ainsley Harriott.

At the same time money is raised for charity and this year the charity is 'World Vision' which works globally to speak out for children affected by injustice and poverty.

Tim said: "I have had many dinners at Eastern Balti and I and can personally recommend it. As a curry lover I love being able to enter local curry houses in the competition. Eastern Balti's staff is warm and friendly and the food is delicious. I hope they get far in the competition."
