Local MP Tim Farron recently met with Kendal College students in parliament.

The students visited the public gallery to watch the ceremony in which the Speaker was elected, before meeting with Tim for a Q&A.

Tim said: "It was great to meet Kendal College students in parliament. Parliament has many quirky traditions, and I hope the students enjoyed watching the election of the Speaker - they witnessed a little bit of parliamentary history! We then had a great Q&A, in which the students asked thoughtful questions. It was good to be able to explain how my work in parliament relates to my work in the constituency, and how what happens in Westminster affects us up in the South Lakes."
