South Lakes MP Tim Farron is calling on all the local foodies to help him find the best Indian restaurant in South Cumbria

The MP needs help nominating one restaurant from Westmorland & Lonsdale to enter the annual Tiffin Cup, a contest to find the best South Asian Restaurant in the country. The nominated entrant will have the chance to compete for a place in the great final which will take place at the Bellamy's Restaurant in Westminster.

Tim said: "The Tiffin Cup is a great opportunity to celebrate the best of South Asian cuisine in South Cumbria and to champion a local business."

"I am sure there are many great restaurants in our area, but I would like to ask all the local curry-lovers to help me find this one special place. Who knows, maybe UK's next top South Asian Restaurant could come from our area."

This year's competition is the eighth edition of the Tiffin Cup. Members of Parliament from all over the UK have been asked to nominate the most popular South Asian restaurant in their constituencies. Ten entrants will be short-listed and invited to a special cook-in at the Bellamy's Restaurant, where the winner will be selected.

Apart from celebrating the quality of South Asian food in Britain, the competition will also raise much-needed money for a charity. This year, all proceeds will be donated to World Vision, whose mission is to transform the lives of the poorest in the developing world.

Nominations can be sent to Tim by email on tim@timfarron.co.uk or by post to Acland House, Yard 2, Stricklandgate Kendal LA9 4ND or via Facebook at www.facebook.com/tim.farron.

All nominations have to be submitted by 27thMarch.
