MP launches series of 'Town Hall' meetings

20 Jul 2017

South Lakes MP Tim Farron is to launch a series of 'town hall meetings' alongside his annual summer tour this year.

The meetings are open to everyone, and residents will be able to put their questions to Tim and raise and discuss issues of concern to local people.

The first two meetings will be held at Calver Uniting Church in Windermere on Friday 28th July and Grange-over-Sands Parish Church on Tuesday 1st August. Both meetings will run from 7pm to 9pm.

Tim will also, once again, be visiting dozens of local villages and hamlets on his summer tour - giving residents another opportunity to ask questions and raise local issues. The tour runs across five days in July and August.

Commenting, Tim said: "One of the best parts of my job is getting out into the community, listening to local concerns and acting on them. I'm always delighted that during Parliament's summer recess I get the opportunity to hold surgeries in some of the smaller villages across the South Lakes - and this year I am particularly looking forward to the new town hall meetings.

"Wherever you are in the South Lakes, and whatever your question or issue, I'd be delighted to see you on the tour or at one of the meetings."
