Local MP Tim Farron today joined excited local residents to greet Prince Charles on his visit to Staveley.

The Prince of Wales, this morning, visited businesses in Staveley Mill Yard and spoke with local residents. This formed part of his tour of Cumbria.

Tim said: "Despite the wet weather, people of all ages came out to see Prince Charles- the town was full of excitement and community spirit.

"I was especially glad that he visited Staveley Mill Yard. More needs to be done to promote and support rural businesses, so it was great to see Prince Charles taking such an interest in our local business owners and providing them with additional encouragement. People in the area are really proud of their businesses so it was fantastic that they had the chance to show them off to royalty!"
