Arnside Fairtrade campaign

South Lakes MP Tim Farron joined local campaigners at Arnside railway station on Friday to help spread the message about Fairtrade, as part of their activities during this year's Fairtrade Fortnight.

Fairtrade fortnight 2017 runs from 27 February until 12 March, with this year's theme being "Take a Fairtrade Break". Campaigners in Arnside have been working hard to promote Fairtrade. On Friday, Tim joined the group to give out Fairtrade tea and coffee to visitors at Arnside railway station.

Tim said: "This event was a lovely way to welcome visitors to Arnside, as well as to promote the important message of Fairtrade. This Fairtrade Fortnight, I hope people will think about the work and the lives of those involved in producing the goods that we eat and drink each day, and how they are affected by the choices we make as consumers. My thanks go to all those who helped out at the event, greeting visitors not only with a hot drink but also a friendly smile."
