28 Oct 2013

South Lakes MP has welcomed the news that Google will come to Kendal to help small businesses in our area to making their online presence felt.

Tim has welcomed that a Juice Bar event, which gives advice and support to small businesses is coming to Kendal. The event will be held at the Brewery Arts Centre and will start at 10am on Friday 29th November.

The Google Juice Bar was being piloted in Merseyside, and Tim was approached by local businesses to look at bringing them to Cumbria. Tim asked the online-giant to come to Kendal. The online-giant will bring along some of its specially trained experts to train Cumbrian businesses, both big and small, into how to get the best out of the web.

Businesses in the South Lakeland area can take advantage of this exciting opportunity by registering for this event free at www.southlakeland.gov.uk/b2b. Spaces are limited, so South Lakeland business owners are encouraged to sign up quickly!

Tim said: "Businesses who are online grow four-times faster than those that aren't. But there is a lot of trepidation for many businesses who are considering venturing onto the web.

"A successful online presence is vital for businesses here in South Lakeland and successful small businesses mean a strong local economy. I hope that as many businesses as possible will take advantage of the expertise on offer from Google."
