MP congratulates pupils, parents and teachers as national league name Cartmel School amongst best in the UK

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has congratulated pupils, parents and teachers as national league tables found Cartmel C of E primary be the sixth best in the country.

The tables measured the percentage of pupils who achieved level four or above in reading, writing and maths between the ages of seven and 11. Other high performing primary schools locally included Arnside, Windermere's Goodly Dale, Heversham St Peter's, Holme, Selside and Storth.

Tim said: "In South Lakeland we are lucky to have so many good schools but Cartmel Primary really have gone above and beyond. I want to pay tribute to Sarah Firth, her staff, the pupils and their parents for their wonderful achievement."
