MP congratulates Christmas Card competition winners
Local MP Tim Farron has congratulated the Nursery class at the St Thomas's Primary School in Kendal for coming up with the winning design for his annual Christmas card.
The class's winning design was one of over a thousand entries from schools across the South Lakes.
Over 40,000 cards with the design have been printed and are being delivered to every home in the Westmorland and Lonsdale constituency.
This year's runners up were Edmundo Dos Santos from St Patrick's CE School in Endmoor and Rosie Barber from Arnside National CE Primary School. A design by Ayda Hayton from Heron Hill Primary School will feature on a second card which Tim will send to organisations and other people he works with across the country.
Tim said: "There were so many brilliant entries to choose from this year but in the end the one created by the nursery class at St Thomas's really stood out.
"For children of such a young age, this was such a clever design and I hope they're parents and guardian are really proud of them.
"I want to say a huge thank you to every pupil that took part in the competition and wish them a very happy Christmas."
