MP celebrates success for Cumbrian out-of-hours GP service at NHS70 Parliamentary Awards
Local MP Tim Farron has welcomed the news that the out-of-hours GP service for Cumbria have today won the award for Excellence in Primary Care at the NHS70 Parliamentary Awards in London.
Cumbria Health on Call had been shortlisted for the award after being originally nominated by Tim and fellow Cumbrian MPs Rory Stewart, Sue Hayman, Trudy Harrison and John Stevenson.
The awards are designed to celebrate the NHS's 70th anniversary by honouring outstanding local teams, projects and people.
Tim said: "I'm absolutely delighted that Cumbria Health on Call have been recognised for the work they do in helping local people, especially those in our rural areas, get the support and help they need closer to home."
