MP backs Gazette's Independents' Day campaign

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has backed the Westmorland Gazette's Independents' Day campaign to support local traders in our area. Tim has asked local residents to buy something from a local shop and support our high street on Saturday 6th July.

Local independent businesses involved are offering discounts and great offers as part of the event. Independents' Day is a national campaign which aims to give a voice to the UK's independent retailers.

Independents' Day is a great opportunity to show the value of independent shops to our community and encourage footfall to local shops.

Tim said: "I think that Independents' Day is a great idea and I hope that it will boost local businesses and support independent traders. It's down to independent traders that we are bucking the trend in South Lakeland, and they deserve our strong support.

"I'm delighted to be supporting the campaign and I want to thank the Gazette for all their work on this. Any help we can offer to small business will make a massive difference."
