Local MP Tim Farron has spoken to Post Office Ltd and asked them to investigate if a 'Post Office Local' service could be brought to Heversham.

Last week Tim wrote to Ms. Paula Vennells the Chief Executive asking them to look at his proposal. Yesterday afternoon Tim lobbied senior managers during a phone call to ask if they can conduct a feasibility study to see if an outreach service can be brought back to village.

The Post Office agreed to seriously look at the proposal.

Tim said: "A Post Office Local service is currently available in many villages throughout South Lakeland. I am asking them to see if we can bring it to Heversham as well. I will keep pushing them and working with residents. If we can bring back the service, it will make a big difference to local residents."
