MP announces Christmas card competition winner
The winner of Tim Farron MP’s annual Christmas card competition has been announced.
Anna Kay, who is a pupil at Dean Gibson RC Primary School in Kendal has won this year’s first prize.
The ten-year-old’s winning design of a festive herdy sheep was one of almost 1,000 entries from schools across the South Lakes.
Over 40,000 cards with the design have been printed and are being delivered to homes across Tim’s Westmorland and Lonsdale constituency.
This year’s runners up were Isobel Gill from Arnside National Primary School, and Barnaby Tyson from Ambleside CE Primary School. A design by Florence Harrod from Levens CE Primary School will feature on a second card.
Tim said: “The standard of card entries was the highest it's ever been, with so many wonderful designs to choose from.
“But in the end I’m delighted to have picked Anna's card and I’m thrilled that her work will now be seen and admired by tens of thousands of South Lakes residents.
“I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s Christmas card competition and wish you all a very happy Christmas.”
