MP announces Christmas card competition winner
The winner of Tim Farron MP's annual Christmas card competition has been announced.
Heidi Knowles, who is a pupil at Selside Endowed CE School has won this year's first prize.
The ten-year-old's winning design of reindeers, penguins and Father Christmas was one of almost 1,000 entries from schools across the South Lakes.
Over 40,000 cards with the design have been printed and are being delivered to homes across Tim's Westmorland and Lonsdale constituency.
The year's runners up were Freya Hildrew from Heron Hill Primary School in Kendal, and Isaac Stewart from Dean Gibson RC Primary School in Kendal. A design by Alex from Langdale CE Primary School will feature on a second card.
Tim said: "I can safely say in my 17 years as MP, this was the toughest year to pick a winner for the Christmas card competition - there were so many brilliant entries!
"But in the end I'm delighted to have chosen Heidi's design and I'm thrilled that her work will now be seen and admired by tens of thousands of South Lakes residents.
"I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part in this year's Christmas card competition and wish you all a very happy Christmas."
