LOCAL MP LAUNCHES PETITION TO SAVE GRANGE AMBULANCE SERVICE

30 Aug 2022

Today, South Lakes MP Tim Farron has released a petition to help save the Grange-Over-Sands ambulance service which is at risk of disappearing.

North West Ambulance Service has been operating one ambulance to cover Grange-Over-Sands and the Cartmel Peninsula from their station on Kents Bank Road for the last 20 years. However, the service is now in jeopardy as the current building will be unavailable from March 2023.

Speaking this morning Tim said: "This station is absolutely crucial to the people of Grange, the Cartmel Peninsula, and even further afield.

"If a new, suitable location for the service is not urgently found lives will be lost."

Tim has announced that he will be writing to both the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and the Chief Executive of NWAS to seek a guarantee of no loss in service:

"The people of Grange and the surrounding area need a guarantee that there will be a continuity of ambulance services in the area and that there will be no hiatus whilst a new location is found."
