Liberal Democrats are celebrating after they won all 24 seats in Today's deferred Kendal Town Council Elections - gaining three seats from the Labour, re-gaining one from the Green's and one from an independent.

Liberal Democrats gained Strickland, Fell and Romney from Labour and won in Underley from the independents. The Lib Dems also re-gained Far Cross ward from the Green Party.

South Lakes MP Tim Farron said, "I am extremely grateful to the people of Kendal for their support. All I can say is 'thank you' and to promise that we will continue to work hard for our town now that the Liberal Democrats have won control of the Kendal Town Council."
