Lib Dem Fundraiser For Flood Victims
Westmorland and Lonsdale Liberal Democrats' annual Christmas Fair has been cancelled, in order to raise money instead for flood victims.
Storm Desmond saw 1400 home flooded in Kendal, and many more residents have been affected across South Lakeland.
There will be a coffee morning, with stalls selling cakes and seasonal fare, at the Town Hall on Saturday 12th December, from 10am-1pm. Profits from the day will go to the Cumbria Community Foundation flood appeal (ring fenced to be spent in South Lakeland).
All are welcome to come and support this event to assist all of those who have been affected by the recent flooding.
Tim said: "In light of what has happened to residents across the area following the devastating flooding, it seemed right to give the profits from our event to those who have been victims of this disaster.
"It has been fantastic to see how the local community has rallied around to support flood victims, and this is yet another example of that. I hope local residents will come along to support this event."
