Local Liberal Democrats councillors in Windermere are continuing to work for better play areas in Windermere.

This week, local councillor Dyan Jones used £500 from her 'locality budget' to help fund Windermere Park for All - a community group working to improve the play area Queens Park.

The Lib Dem-run council have also put £10,000 into improvements to Queens Park's football pitch.

Local councillors are also wanting to use the money raised from selling the old public convenience block on Glebe Road to fund play area improvements at Longlands Road, and a new play area at Millerground.

Dyan said: "I'm proud to be supporting this cross-community group.

"Many local residents raise the condition of the Queens Park play area with me.

"I'm delighted to be working with the team to secure funding for it's re-development alongside other play areas in the town."
