Heversham St Peter's Primary School welcomed Tim Farron MP yesterday, who answered questions from students following their Pupil Parliament Day.

Tim was given what he described as a "grilling" by the students in a wide-ranging Q&A session.

The students were particularly interested to hear about Tim's upbringing, and how he ended up going in to politics. Tim explained how he had become interested in politics after watching 'Cathy Come Home', which highlighted the problems of homelessness and unemployment. Tim also spent time listening to the students share stories about their own lives.

Tim said: "I really enjoyed meeting the students at Heversham St Peter's School.

"It was wonderful to see such interested and enthusiastic young people. They certainly gave me a grilling with their questions, and their concern for their local community does them credit."
