Forward Diary - 4 to 9 June 2007
Tim will start his work in the constituency on Monday at a meeting with bosses at Cumbria PCT. Tim will be discussing concerns surrounding the current 'Great Health Debate'. Later, Tim will be performing the official opening of the new 'play castle' at Natland pre-school.
In Westminster on Tuesday Tim will be speaking in a debate on the future of local government in Cumbria. Tim has campaigned against a unitary authority for Cumbria and will use the cross-party Westminster Hall debate to raise his concerns again. Tim will then go on to meet with fellow Liberal Democrat MPs to discuss the direction of the party.
On Wednesday Tim will be meeting with fellow MPs as part of the Rural Services All Party Parliamentary Group, alongside his work as Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Hill Farming Tim uses the meetings of the groups to raise constituency related issues. He will then be attending Prime Minister's Question Time with Sir Menzies Campbell.
Back in the constituency on Thursday, Tim will taking part in various meetings before having dinner with Charles Belcher, Managing Director of Virgin Trains. Tim has been campaigning against the proposed reduction in train services from the North West to the South West and South Coast, and will be discussing this and other issues relating to local train services with Mr Belcher.
On Friday Tim will attending the World Environment Day stall in Kendal's Market Place. The stall will be highlighting the need to buy local food to help fight climate change. Later, Tim will be the guest speaker at the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce lunch. He will then be holding his regular advice surgery at the Kelsick Centre in Ambleside from 4pm to 5pm.
On Saturday Tim will be taking part in the Bendrigg Trust 10km run, and then presenting prizes to the competitors.
