Farron Welcomes Improvements In Cumbria Care
Tim Farron has welcomed the announcement by Monitor that Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has strengthened its leadership team and improved its management.
The Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is a provider of mental health services and community healthcare.
According to Monitor, the health sector regulator, the trust has made fundamental changes to its organisational structure to give clinicians more control over how to improve health care services for patients. There have also been changes to improve communication between front-line staff and senior leadership.
The trust has also strengthened its clinical leadership by appointing more clinical experts to its senior management team, bringing experience in caring for patients directly into discussions at board level.
Monitor has recognised the improvements made by the trust which meet the requirements of the enforcement action which was in place.
Tim said: "Constituents regularly contact me about the crucial importance of mental health services, so it is pleasing to see that the Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which delivers these services as well as community healthcare, has been recognised by Monitor as improving. I will continue to campaign for improvements to all the trusts which serve South Lakeland, to ensure that local people have access to the highest quality of services."
