Farron wears pink for breast cancer support
South Lakes MP Tim Farron has worn pink in parliament to show support for women affected by breast cancer. Tim is encouraging constituents to take part in the 'Wear It Pink' campaign to raise funds for Breast Cancer Now.
Tim is backing Breast Cancer Now's campaign to stop women dying from the disease. Their annual 'Wear It Pink' fundraiser, now in its 15th year, will take place on Friday 21 October. Last year, the 'wear it pink' event alone raised over £2million for research into breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, and causes the death of almost 1000 women in the UK every month. Over 50,000 women are diagnosed with it each year.
Tim said: "I'm proud to be backing the Wear It Pink campaign. I'd encourage constituents to add a splash of pink to their wardrobe on the 21st October, to help raise money and awareness for this vital cause."
