Local MP Tim Farron has been visiting residents in the Mintsfeet area of Kendal who are still waiting for flood protection - nearly two years after Storm Desmond flooded their homes.

Tim said: "I'm deeply concerned that half of the homes I visited in Mintsfeet did not have the proper protection to save people in the event of a flood.

"I've asked the council to suspended their deadline, which is currently this Saturday, for people to have their work completed and invoices submitted.

"I have also written to the government to ask them to fund a full quality check of all flood work done on people's homes so that we can be sure that they are actually up to the job."
