Farron takes 'Hands off our hospital' campaign on the road

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has taken his campaign to defend services at Westmorland General Hospital on the road this morning.

Tim took the campaign this morning to Kirkby Lonsdale market and over one hundred residents signed the petition in just two hours. Now over 4000 local people have joined the rallying cry to safeguard Westmorland General Hospital, after a pair of consultants raised fears that some services could be moved from the site or out of NHS control.

Tim said: "The response this morning in Kirkby Lonsdale has been replicated throughout South Lakeland. I want to thank the thousands of local residents who have joined the campaign and stood up to defend our hospital.

"We are working tirelessly to defend Westmorland General and will keep working and saying to NHS bosses loudly and clearly - hands off our hospital!"
