Young Enterprise Workshop

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has spoken to young entrepreneurs in Kendal, as part of a workshop held on Friday.

The event was organised by the South Cumbria Area Board for Young Enterprise Achievers, bringing together entrepreneurial young people and business leaders from across South Cumbria.

The aim of the workshop was to prepare companies for The Spring Trade Fair, and ultimately for the Area Finals. The students practised their presentation skills, and were given advice on how to produce a good trade stand and company report, as well as how to prepare a closing financial report. The Young Enterprise Spring Trade Fair will be held at the Westmorland Shopping Centre on Saturday 13th February.

The South Cumbria Area Board Finals will be held on Monday 21st March 2016 in Barrow-in-Furness.

Tim said: "South Lakeland is a real hub for small businesses and entrepreneurs, and having met these young people it is clear that that this is set to continue. It was great to see their enthusiasm and creativity, and I am sure that these young people are set for further success in the future.

"This is a fantastic scheme, which provides support and advice for entrepreneurial young people, and my thanks go to the organisers and to all the local business people who have given up their time to support this scheme."
